new in 2027
A stormy performance has ended. The audience has left the theatre. The musician remains
alone backstage, together with the silence.
In the silence after the storm, no one hears his deep sigh.
No one sees the empty theatre bathed in cold light.
When the lights go out, he walks alone into the night through the back door.
Only to return through that same stage entrance after a night’s sleep.
But within the silence, something new begins to move. It becomes funny, wondrous and
sometimes slightly fairy-tale-like. Doors open and close, allowing new experiences to enter.
A final chord as both ending and beginning.
Final Chord is a sensory performance featuring three dancers in a choreography by Jack Timmermans, with music composed and performed live by Remy van Kesteren — winner of
the Dutch Music Prize and praised by The New York Times as a “brilliant harpist”.
With this production, Jack marks a remarkable final chapter after thirty years with de Stilte
and more than 45 years as a choreographer.
